Imaginary Beings – by Jane R. Willson

IMAGINARY BEINGS PAINTINGS - IN PIXELS AND WOOD // WOODCUT AND DIGITAL MEDIA BY JANE R WILLSON OPENING - FEBRUARY 19,2015 6-9PM 1286 SANCHEZ STREET SAN FRANCISCO, CA In this series, Jane Willson explores the realms of the unreal through a mix of woodcarvings and digital paintings, inspired by myth, folk and fairy tales, and her own imagined narratives. Using these elements, she paints a parallel universe of imagined beings, beasts and lands, replete with handy maps that lead to nowhere, suggesting that reality is relative.
